Character Preview: Ren


For the fourth sneak peek: We have Ren. He was originally created as the main character of another game of mine. 

His inclusion in LOA is sort of like the "hero of another story" trope in fiction, which I hate to admit I actually quite like.

those who are part of the Discord server likely know about this second game, but for those who aren't, I've been steadily working on another project to go along with LOA: a roguelike made in RMMZ. Or, at least, as close as I could get to one in the engine. There are no random rooms, but there are random items and enemies. Character creation affects the story, and the party changes based on your character. It's an ambitious project, and I don't plan to rush it, but it's still a good thing to look forward to.

Nevertheless, as a character designed to be the hero of his own story, he will likely be a mentor to the party. Guiding them along the path he thinks is right. A path that may or may not conflict with the priorities of a player.

Gameplay wise he's sort of a trick character, he exists as a sort of "Item character" where his entire skillset comes from his signature Curio, the Composite Workshop. An item that grants access to around a half dozen new attack options! This makes him an offensive powerhouse with a bit of an HP problem.
